Our well-established client in the pharmaceutical industry has a vacancy available for a Brand Manager based at the Parktown office.
Main Purpose of Job
The Rx Brand Manager is responsible for executing marketing strategies targeted at doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals (HCPs). This role owns all professional/medical marketing for assigned brands — including detailing, clinical positioning with Medical Team, CME/CPD initiatives, and KOL engagement — ensuring that the company's brands remain trusted, evidence-based choices in the prescription space.
Key Performance Areas
• Doctor Marketing Strategy
o Execute Rx marketing plans aligned with brand objectives.
o Build strong clinical positioning with clear evidence-based claims.
o Partner with Medical Affairs on compliance and scientific accuracy.
• HCP Engagement
o Lead detailing strategy and produce high-quality in-field materials (detail aids, leave-behinds, objection handlers).
o Organise CME/CPD events, advisory boards, and symposia.
o Manage KOL relationships and advocacy development.
o Leverage Digital detailing platforms to create, manage, and track closed-loop detail aids for optimal HCP engagement.
• Insights & Market Intelligence
o Track and analyse script data, competitor activities, and HCP feedback.
o Use insights to refine campaigns and identify growth opportunities.
o Translate Digital Detailing Insight reports into actionable strategies for detailing.
• Cross-Functional Alignment
o Work closely with Sales, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure seamless field execution.
o Provide the Rx team with effective tools and training for brand messaging.
• Compliance
o Ensure all Rx activities adhere strictly to SAHPRA regulations and industry codes.
Minimum Requirements
• Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or medically related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years’ experience managing Rx brands
• Skills: KOL management, data analysis, clinical communication, strong project management.
• Behaviours: Detail-oriented, strategic, collaborative, compliant, results-driven.
